Dear Craig,
Sales suck.
Fine, it’s better than whipping around Thousand Oaks as the cig-smoking-pizza-boy, but how long can you keep pushing those shitty slasher sales?
And are your friends who went down to San Diego, partied for four years, and now upgraded to the company BMWs really smarter than you— or are they just executing better?
Why am I writing you?
Today, I'm going to share with you an opportunity.
An opportunity that’ll let you disconnect your income from your time, master an in-demand skill, and have a damn good time.
It will require hard work, a bit of discipline, and an open mind, but if you listen up, you might just leapfrog all those college boys and then some.
Before I share this opportunity with you, I’ll tell you a quick story so you can understand how we got here.
Grand Junction, Colorado, 2018
This is a true story.
In 2018, I saw a beautiful woman in a hotel lobby. As I walked over to her, my heart was pounding. Never in my life have I felt such a powerful attraction to a woman. I had to talk to her no matter how much my palms were sweating.
She was in her late 20’s, and I was an 18-year-old boy.
As I closed in on her, I noticed her book wasn’t in English. So I blurted out, “What language do you read?” When she told me it was German, I decided right then and there I was a man on a mission to speak fluent German.
The only problem was, I sucked at learning languages (and school in general).
It was anything but easy, but after two years, I taught myself fluent German, mostly from the basement of my parent's suburban home.
Then in 2021, I arrived in Germany to teach English.
What happened next blew my mind.
You see, I made a YouTube video that went viral in Germany.
Over 100,000 people saw it!
That’s small potatoes for some, but for a newbie like me, I was shocked.
That’s when I realized,
Financial Freedom is within reach.
Because if you know how to use it, you can attract massive attention on the internet.
And you can monetize attention.
Imagine if I had stuck a language learning e-book at the end of that video.
127,000 people would have seen it!
If just 2 percent bought a copy, we would have made 2540 sales– from 2 hours of work!
Compare that with two hours of haggling with used car dealers. You tell me what’s a better use of your time. (and more ethical)
Hard work is overrated
It’s not too late for you
It’s not your fault you’ve been barking up the wrong tree. These opportunities didn’t even exist for our parents’ generation, and school couldn’t have possibly prepared you.
But now you know, if you use it right, you can leverage the internet to achieve guacamole-for-the-whole-damn-Chipotle financial freedom.
What skills do you need to succeed?
You only need one skill to profit off this internet revolution.
In marketing, we call it copywriting.
Copywriting is “salesmanship at scale.”
Copywriting is “writing words that sell at scale.”
Copywriting is the ultimate business skill that will propel you to guacamole-for-the-whole-damn-Chipotle financial freedom.
Don’t believe me?
Here are 3 specific copywriting tools I used in that viral video (of 7 total)
Admit a flaw
“My German’s not perfect.”
Call to Action
“Reply with my German mistakes so you can help me get better.”
Anticipate Objections
“Now I know what you must be thinking, ‘but German universities are free!’” (after I insulted German universities)
Once you learn the handful of tools, you become a persuasion powerhouse.
But don’t take my word for it here’s what Gary Bencivenga, “one of the greatest copywriters the world has ever known,” has to say about copywriting,
“The key—your foundation for having enormous value in any marketplace—is knowing how to be a superstar salesperson in print.”
And, of course, if you can persuade in print, you can persuade online.
Let’s take a quick step back.
Maybe you feel intimidated.
Maybe you were no good in English class (I wasn’t either).
Maybe you’re unsure if you can do it because you never graduated from college.
But guess what, some of the best copywriters in the world, like Dan Kennedy, never stepped foot in college.
And Joe Sugarman, who sold 100,000 sunglasses with a single ad, called himself a “lousy” speller.
If they can do it, so can you.
What makes a good copywriter?
Here’s what Joe Sugarman, “Copywriting Yoda,” has to say,
Does this remind you of yourself at all?
One more take from Joe,
But the best part is,
Persuasion is Evergreen (You’ll always have it)
Times are changing.
Once stable careers are disappearing. Remember that Stock Broker backup plan? Yeah, the internet deleted that career in a decade. Who can say what career will be next?
But while everything around us changes, one thing stays the same: the human brain.
You see, even if technology and society are moving at light speed, evolution ticks forward like a snail. The fact is, once you learn persuasion and understand what makes people tick, you can use it for the rest of your life.
And that goes for your whole life, not just making money. For example, you’ll be able to use your copywriting skills to,
Make friends
Craft party invitations
Meet beautiful women
And like all great copywriters, you’ll learn how to,
“Enter the conversation already occurring in the prospect's mind.” (Collier)
Talk about a superpower…
Do you have the courage to turn pro?
Now, this is all good and well, but a career in copywriting is not for everyone.
If you’re not interested in humans,
If you’re not willing to study new prospects and products,
If you’re not willing to immerse yourself in the principles of persuasion,
It won’t be a good fit.
But,
If you’re interested in humans,
If you’re willing to study new products and markets,
If you’re willing to dedicate yourself to mastering an in-demand skill,
you might have just found the career of your dreams.
What do you have to lose?
Do I believe you can do it?
Absolutely.
That’s why I’m writing you this letter.
But if you follow my recommendation and build massive wealth, I need you to promise me one thing, next time we go to Chipotle, guac’s on you.
Talk Soon,
Connor
P.S. How to Teach Yourself Copywriting: (for free)

Your progress is so impressive, I remember reading your first blog post about 4 weeks ago and it was now
Connor,
The last piece plays in my mind like watching a movie.
Especially the scene of the 18-year-old approaching the girl with brave, beyond beautiful, I am touched.
I was "forced" to read this content in my blocked Ship time. I realized you would write a great book as well. I am so lucky to be next to you.
soon to be a fan, LOL, P.S I am stealing a few pieces, you will see which soon.
