Fix What You Can
I love to sew. It's practical and provides visible results. Sewing up my socks also taught me to address problems when they present themselves.
During a world tour with just a handful of pairs, my socks got pretty worn down. By the time I sewed up my sock holes, some of them were already baseball diameter. They were substantially bigger than the penny-sized holes I had first noticed. Because I had waited, I had to do much more work, and the socks never looked very good. I wished I had fixed my socks earlier.
By now, you may be thinking, why should I care about this guy's old socks? What I want to say is, if we are lucky enough to notice problems in their immature stages, we should fix them before they snowball out of control.
